SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A mainstay of Central New York television has signed off for the last time.

"I would like to say one last time, I'm Jackie Robinson. Goodnight, Central New York."

Jackie Robinson's final day was Tuesday at WSTM.

Robinson began her career at WSYR radio before moving to TV at WSTM in the early 70s. It was in 1985 that she became the station's first African American anchor.

Since that time, she's won dozens of awards for her reporting and anchoring and worked with countless non-profit organizations.

Tuesday's on-air tribute also included a joint proclamation from Onondaga County and the City of Syracuse, proclaiming Tuesday Jackie Robinson Day in recognition of her career and contributions to the community.
