Construction causing delays on I-81 in Syracuse
With the New York State Fair over, construction has resumed on Interstate 81 in Syracuse, and the traffic congestion has already begun. If you use I-81 south on a regular basis, you may continue to experience some heavier delays during the morning and evening rush. Our Brad Vivacqua reports.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- This is an issue that commuters may not have expected because this work stopped during the New York State Fair, but then started back up.
Crews are trying to take advantage of the good weather to do paving work and make repairs to improve the conditions on this heavily traveled roadway.
The delays also trickled over to I-690, as drivers tried to find an alternate route.
The construction is being conducted right near the Butternut Street bridge. You can expect to have one less lane to work with from Spencer down to just south of the 481 Interchange. We're told this work is expected to last until September 25th.
You're advised to exercise some patience and try to get out the door a few minutes earlier if you use I-81 south through the city.
