ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca police have made two arrests in a nine month old homicide case.

Francisco Santiago, 25, was shot and killed in an apartment at the Chestnut Hill complex back on December 1st of last year. Police say Santiago, who was from the Bronx, was in Ithaca to sell drugs, making routine trips back to New York City over several months.

According to investigators, he was murdered as part of a drug-related robbery.

Thursday, authorities arrested Gary Lowe, 49, in Ithaca. The second suspect, Lawrence Beauford, 34, was already behind bars for an unrelated case.

Both men have been charged with second degree murder.
