Syracuse man rejects plea deal for DWI
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man indicted on drunk driving charges has rejected a plea deal.
Officials say Joseph Bertrand, who already spent time in jail for killing his girlfriend while driving drunk, refused a plea deal in court Thursday morning that would have reduced his sentence.
Bertrand was arrested on June 10th in the Town of Salina for DWI, criminal possession of stolen property and several traffic violations.
If he had accepted the plea deal, he would have been sentenced to two to six years in prison.
Bertrand will be back in court September 20th.
