HASTINGS, N.Y. -- The town board authorized the spraying back in mid-august, after several mosquito samples in the area tested positive for the West Nile Virus. Since then, the EEE virus has also been discovered in Central Square.

Oswego County will conduct their own spraying in response to the positive EEE samples, but it is unclear when it will happen. Spraying will also be held Monday night, targeting West Monroe.
