CANTON, N.Y. -- Authorities are investigating a crash in St. Lawrence County that sent three people to the hospital. It happened on County Route 27 around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Sheriff's Office said Thom Byrne, 18, pulled onto the road from a private access road, hitting a truck driven by Andrew Bregg, 28.

Byrne and a passenger, Damian Cuellar, 19, were both taken to a local hospital. Byrne was than transferred to a Vermont hospital with severe head and body trauma. Cuellar was treated for a cut to his head. Bregg was also taken to the hospital with a possible fractured arm. Deputies are still investigating the accident, and they say possible charges are pending.
