SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Hundreds of bikers teamed up this weekend to help in the fight against breast cancer. The annual Ride for Research took off from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse on Sunday.
The event raises money for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, which goes to local research efforts. Organizers said the event draws so much support because breast cancer touches so many lives.
"A lot of people that are coming out here are either riding in memory of somebody, or somebody who is actually going through and being diagnosed with some kind of cancer. It's a way to get everybody together and just be reminded of why we are doing this," explained Jacqueline Baldwin, Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund Ambassador.
There are a few more fundraisers coming up for the Fund, including a golf tournament and a kayaking event later this month. The Run for Their Life event will be held on October 14.
