UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica man faces charges for a sexual assault. According to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, Darren Smith, 21, was arrested for an assault that happened in the overnight hours between August 30th and 31st.

Smith is charged with first-degree criminal sex act. He was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $50,000 bail.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
