OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Aerial spraying for mosquitoes continues in Oswego County, with another round scheduled for either today or tomorrow.
The spraying will take place across a 10,000 acre area near Central Square, where a mosquito tested positive for EEE last week. That was the first discovery of the virus this year in Oswego County.
Last week, the town of Hastings also conducted its own spraying to fight the West Nile Virus.
Health officials say residents may wish to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed for one hour after aerial spraying. Other safety measures include keeping pets indoors, closing vents on window air conditioners, and rinsing homegrown fruits and vegetables thoroughly before cooking or eating.
