ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two Central New York legends came out to support their community in a round of golf Monday.

Former Syracuse football coach Dick MacPherson and Time Warner Cable Sports Director Doug Logan attended the Foresight Golf Tournament at the Links at Erie Village in East Syracuse.

The event was hosted by Aurora of Central New York to support those of all ages who are affected by hearing or vision loss.

Organizers say having the two local icons on board helped bring a large crowd to participate in the fundraising tournament and raffles.

“It's wonderful to have Doug Logan and Coach Mac out here for our foresight Golf Tournament. It's a real treat,” said Debra Chaiken, Executive Director of Aurora of Central New York.

Logan said, "One in four have some sort of hearing loss and one in three have some sort of vision loss once you're beyond the age of 65. And so this is a significant portion of our community that's affected."

Aurora of Central New York helps a significant number of people in the community regain independence after hearing and vision become impaired.
