FABIUS, N.Y. -- A local man tested his luck and became a millionaire playing the lottery.

A Fabius man will receive his $1 million Megaplier prize check on Wednesday. New York Lottery's Gretchen Dizer will present him with his check at the Pompey Mall at 10:30 a.m.

The winner owes his good fortune to the Megaplier option on the Mega Millions tickets. The option can multiply your winnings by two, three or four times the original amount and only costs a dollar extra per game. This lucky lottery player increased his winnings from $250,000 to $1 million.
