Man sentenced in fake bomb incident
UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica man has been sentenced to six months in jail after admitting to leaving a false bomb in a hotel bathroom earlier this year.
Albert Duffy, 49, admitted to putting two partially burned road flares in a bathroom toilet at the Scottish Inn in Utica back in February. The building was evacuated and a bomb squad was called as a precaution.
Duffy was sentenced to six months in jail, followed by five years probation in exchange for his guilty plea.
