BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A long-running theater in Endicott is looking to make some improvements during its upcoming season.

The Cider Mill Playhouse opens its 37th season Thursday evening.

Patrons may notice that the theater is in the process of rebuilding the front entrance. The lobby has also been repainted and officials say they're in the process of changing the concessions. They say they also plan to embark on a capital campaign within the next month to help them buy the playhouse from the Cider Mill as opposed to renting it, which would make them eligible for more grants. It's all part of an effort to draw more people into the theater.

"There is a new feeling to move forward, to review who we are, how we have been working, how we have been relating the community, so that we can really succeed in a bigger way, increase our presence and our effectiveness," said Robert Rogers, Cider Mill Playhouse Executive Director.

The Playhouse will be hosting performances of the play "It Could Be Any One of Us" through October.
