STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Town of Campbell man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a 1981 Corvette.

Steuben County Sheriff Deputies arrested Darrell Hoad II, 32, of Campbell.

Officials say the investigation began back in May when the owner of the Corvette reported that his car disappeared while Hoad was working on it. Deputies say Hoad was in possession of the vehicle at the time of its disappearance, but told them that it disappeared from his property without his knowledge. Officials were able to track automotive parts that came from the vehicle and had been traded or sold by Hoad.

Hoad has been charged with grand larceny.
