AUBURN, N.Y. -- Kids were celebrating in Auburn on Friday as the Booker T. Washington Community Center unveiled their brand new Courts 4 Kids basketball court. The program provides the opportunity for kids to showcase their hard earned skills, no matter what their socioeconomic background is.

This is the organization's first basketball court outside of Onondaga County, and the organization hopes to continue expanding.

"We'd like to go to any community that will get something going, and we will participate," said Jim Boeheim, SU Basketball Coach. "I think this is our fifth court, and we want to build another 20 courts over the next few years. So, lets get everybody involved, whether it be Auburn, Syracuse, or I don't care, wherever it is."

The majority of the work that is put into these courts is done by community volunteered time and resources.
