SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Seneca County Sheriff's office is investigating the death of an infant.

Emergency responders arrived at a home in the Town of Romulus Friday where they found one-year-old Dieter Tackett II not breathing. They began rescue efforts and transported him to the hospital, where he later died.

Sheriff's deputies say the preliminary investigation did not show any signs of trauma, but the child's death is still being investigated.

An autopsy and toxicology tests are being performed.
