UNITED STATES -- More than 80 percent of drivers age 65 and older regularly take medications, yet only half have talked to a medical professional about possible safety issues related to driving.

AAA launched the Roadwise RX site specifically so people can get personalized feedback on how medications, supplements, foods, and interactions together can impact driving. People 65-years-old and older typically take more medications, and certain drugs like antidepressants have been shown to increase crash risk by up to 41 percent.

Officials say this tool will allow you to type in your medications and get results on how the drugs may impact your driving.

"The intent is not for you to change what you're taking on your own, or to change your driving habits on your own, the call to action is to have that conversation with a medical professional," said Diana Dibble, AAA CNY Public Affairs Manager.

AAA publicly launched this website last week and again it's recommended for people of any age.
