SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- One person was seriously injured in a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Syracuse. It happened on the 200 block of Rich Street around 1:30 p.m.

Police say a 20-year-old man was walking down the street when he was confronted by another man who opened fire. The victim was brought to Upstate University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

"We don't know what the motive is. We don't know who the suspect is at this time. It's still very early on. So as soon as we get more information, we'll pass it on," Syracuse Police Sgt. Tom Connellan.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
