SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- National Grid held its 4th Annual Upstate New York Energy Efficiency Conference and Expo to help customers learn new ways to save money. The company invited a number of industrial and municipal customers to the expo at the Oncenter Wednesday so they could learn about National Grid's efficiency programs.
Officials say they hold the expo each year to educate the 600 people in attendance about various technologies they can use for their businesses to make them more profitable. They say many people are looking into these programs to help save money, but also to become more green.
"Everybody, I think, certainly over the last few years is more concerned about the environment is looking for more sustainable solutions both in the home and also in their business to become more green, to reduce their carbon footprint," said Jim Stapleton, Manager of Energy Efficiency for National Grid.
Company officials say they encourage everyone, for both residential and commercial buildings, to take advantage of their energy saving programs.
