HERKIMER, N.Y. - No stranger to success in men's soccer, reigning national champion Herkimer County Community College is playing up to its usual standard with an 8-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in NJCAA Division III.
The Generals have won an astounding 22-straight Region III championships and have gone on to claim eight national titles in that span. But as easy as it would be to look ahead to the playoffs right now as they've outscored their opponents 39-5 with five shutouts, head coach Pepe Aragon, a former HCCC player himself, says the key to the program's success is never looking farther ahead than the next game.
That next game is Thursday night at home against Finger Lakes.
