ELMIRA, N.Y. -- A person is in the hospital this morning with serious injuries after being hit by a car Wednesday night in Elmira. Police say the person was crossing Pennsylvania Avenue near Clemens Center Parkway at about 9 p.m. when they were hit by a car.

The pedestrian was taken to Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

The driver has not been charged and police are not releasing the name of either the driver or the victim.
