SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Those traveling through Syracuse should expect delays this weekend. That's because construction is about to pick up again on Interstate 690. This time, the work is taking place on the eastbound side.
Workers will be replacing the 690 bridge deck over Peat Street. The DOT says the work will start at 9 a.m. Friday and will continue around the clock over the weekend. During that time, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in or near the Interstate 81- Interstate 690 interchange. All eastbound traffic will be required to exit at Teall Avenue and proceed easterly on Erie Boulevard before returning to I-690 at Thompson Road.
The bridge is expected to re-open to traffic by noon on Monday.
