SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The 100 block of Walton Street was turned into a runway Thursday night as fashion models showed off the latest trends selling in downtown Syracuse shops.

"Syracuse Style" was started three years ago by a local designer and now draws a crowd of hundreds to see the show. The founder says she's proud it's become such a big community event and hopes it helps promote all of the local businesses that take part.

"You know the retailers, everybody needs a boost these days. With Destiny opening, every local business needs help these days," said founder Lisa Butler.

The fashion show also served as a fundraiser, bringing in money for the Mary Nelson Youth Day Foundation.
