CORNING, N.Y. -- The start of fall will be celebrated this weekend in Corning's Gaffer District. The 17th annual Jazz and Harvest Festival kicks off tonight. The two-day festival features numerous jazz acts as well as wine and beer tastings. There will also be a farmer's market, scarecrow contest and other activities for the whole family.

Headlining this year's festival is Nashville Recording Artist and Grammy nominee Ty Herndon. His 1995 debut single, “What Mattered Most,” hit number one and he has 17 other Billboard Hot Country chart singles.

Herndon will perform Saturday at 5 p.m. on the Centerway Stage. The performance is free, but seating is limited, so if you plan on attending, you're encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
