OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Oswego County Public Health Department wants to urge residents to keep taking precautions when it comes to mosquitoes.

Even though the county carried out aerial spraying earlier this month, officials say the virus is still present at test sites across the county. They say cooler temperatures only mean mosquitoes are less active, but they are still a threat.

Until we have a couple of heavy frosts, residents are urged to protect themselves from mosquitoes to reduce the risk of being exposed to West Nile and EEE.

For more information, you can call the Oswego County Health Department at (315) 349-3564.
