CENTRAL NEW YORK -- Many people reported seeing a large ball of fire over Oneida Lake on Friday night, but according to astronomy experts, it's a natural occurrence. Raymond Dague, the Observatory Director for the Syracuse Astronomical Society said he also received reports of a fireball last night.
Dague said they're usually about 60 miles up in the air and it burns up before it hits the ground. Central New York isn't the only place a fireball was reported seen last night, there were also reports of a fireball in Albany and Toronto.
