DOT: I-690 east construction expected to finish by 6 p.m.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Construction on Interstate 690 east in Syracuse is now expected to be finished by 6 p.m. today, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
Crews have been working around the clock and through the rain since Friday, trying to finish work on the Peat Street Bridge on time. The construction was expected to be complete by this afternoon, but because of colder overnight temperatures, crews need more time to allow the grout locking to cure.
Meanwhile, the highway remains closed at Teall Avenue. Traffic can get back on the highway at Thompson Road.
