ORISKANY, N.Y. -- Deputy Kurt Wyman's name can be seen all across Oneida County on a variety of plagues, a highway, and now on the Oneida County Sheriff's building, now known as the Deputy Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building.
Wyman was killed more than a year ago in the line of duty after being shot during a domestic standoff.
"It's our obligation that everyone else not only now but future generations to come never forget Deputy Kurt B. Wyman and the sacrifices that he made," said Robert Maciol, Oneida County Sheriff.
"It's a good reminder for us, it's a good reminder for everybody in the future. We appreciate it, it's definitely an honor. We'd like to have him back, but that ain't going to happen," said Brian Wyman, fallen deputy's father.
Wyman left behind two children. Family members say they'll use these memorials as a way to tell them about their father and remember the man he was.
