WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- It's an eight day, 2,500 mile scavenger hunt involving more than 40 teams and Universal Studio's Fireball Run is expected to draw thousands to downtown Watertown Tuesday.

Teams will start Tuesday afternoon in Sackets Harbor's Madison Barracks before hitting downtown Watertown for the end of the leg. And the North Country will be out in full force waiting for the teams. Concerts from local groups including the 10th Mountain Division band are planned. There'll be stage performances, an antique car show, a farmer's market and more.

"It's not about a race. It's not about the cars. It's really about bringing your community together and showcasing our community. We have a beautiful downtown and this is a great opportunity to showcase this downtown," said GWNC Chamber of Commerce President Lynn Pietroski.

Universal Studios will be filming the event to use in an upcoming movie based on the run.

Washington Street near the Governor Flower monument will be closed most of the day Tuesday.
