MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- Morrisville State equine students teamed up to put on the program's single largest annual fundraiser. The college held its 23rd annual Fall Yearling sale Monday.

A total of 172 young horses were up for sale at the college’s Nancy Sears Stowell Arena. The event gives Morrisville equine students a chance to build skills through every aspect of the sale, by preparing stalls, grooming, leading and showing the horses and setting up the business office.

"It's kind of an intimidating place here with all these horses coming in, they're just yearlings, they're not that well broke. There's a lot of people here from all over the country. It's a good opportunity for the students to be exposed to a lot of different things," said David Hanson, Yearling Sale Manager.

Proceeds from this year’s sale will go toward bettering the college’s equine programs and facilities.
