Gun fired at car dealership, bullet almost hits customer

ROME, N.Y. -- Two men were arrested after accidentally firing a loaded gun at a local car dealership. It happened at Hoke Auto sales in Rome.

Rome Police say the owner, Ricky Hoke, 56, was in an office showing his new gun to Edward Lemmon Jr., 45. They say Lemmon was handling the gun, when he pointed it at a wall and pulled the trigger, causing the gun to fire.

Police say the bullet went through the wall and into the parking lot, before hitting and passing through the sleeve and stomach area of a coat being worn by a customer. The customer was not hit.

Hoke and Lemmon were both charged with reckless endangerment.
