CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Cayuga County man has been sentenced to more than 50 years behind bars for raping a three-year-old girl.

The District Attorney says Robert Knapp will serve 57 years in prison and another 25 years of post release supervision for repeatedly raping the child in 2010.

Authorities say when the sentencing was read in court, Knapp began screaming obscenities and attempted to attack the deputies. It was also alleged that Knapp sexually abused a four- and six-year-old in 2010, but because of testimonial issues and the two years between the abuse and the trial, the court could not charge him for the additional crimes.
