SKANEATELES, N.Y. -- A Weedsport man is in critical condition following a head-on crash in Skaneateles. It happened on State Street Road between Mottville and Stump roads a little before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say James Rusyniak, 38, crossed over the center lines into the path of a pickup truck. Rusyniak was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital.

Two people in the pickup truck were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigators believe Rusyniak may have fallen asleep at the wheel before the crash. He has been ticketed for driving over hazard markings.
