Commuters enjoy new Centro station
The new Centro downtown transfer station in Syracuse is getting some positive feedback after opening a few weeks ago. Still, there are some changes commuters would like to see as we enter the colder months. YNN’s Brad Vivacqua has the latest.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- This $17 million facility opened more than three weeks ago and can accommodate up to 22 buses at once, while passengers wait for the bus either inside a waiting area or at least under the roof.
One of the purposes of the facility was to allow passengers to get out of the elements and have easier ticket access with automated machines. In addition, it's easier to find information on your bus departure and the new hub is more spacious than the old bus stop at Salina and Fayette.
Some commuters say they'd like to see additional features to the site like a larger enclosed waiting area, a coffee shop, and more seating. Centro officials say they will continue to look in to how they can improve the facility.
"We're making some other improvements to the information systems and getting in different variations from our customers and we've received from feedback from them so. You know we're working, it's a work in progress but the main function of the building, of getting people where they need to go is working excellently," said Steven Koegel, Centro Communications Director.
Koegel says Centro is in the process of adding more waiting area seating both inside and outside. That work should be done in about four to six weeks.
