MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Yates County man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after he was convicted of raping a victim under the age of 17 in Madison County. Edward Dean, 49, was found guilty on three counts of rape and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from three separate incidents.

Dean will spend the next 12 years behind bars, along with 10 years of post-release supervision. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Dean also pleaded guilty to federal sex charges last month in relation to the same incidents. That sentencing is scheduled for December.
