OSWEGO, N.Y. -- An Onondaga County man is accused of breaking into an Oswego apartment and assaulting the resident. It happened on West Utica Street Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Joshua Butler, 30, entered the apartment and repeatedly hit a 34-year-old man in the head with an unknown-type of edged weapon.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Butler was later arrested at his home in Syracuse. He's now charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and one count each of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen Butler in the area to call (315) 342-8130.
