BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- This coming Monday, the Baldwinsville School Board was expected to vote on a resolution to close Van Buren Elementary, but talks about adding full day kindergarten within the district could put those plans on hold for years to come.

A board sub-committee has determined that if the district wants to consider adding full day kindergarten, then it needs to commit to an extensive study and keep all schools intact. They say several years would be needed to fully assess how decreasing school revenue would impact the addition of new programs like full day kindergarten.

The topic is expected to be discussed at the beginning of Monday's Board of Education meeting. The public is invited to attend.
