E.J. Noble Hospital not accepting patients

GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. -- Residents who may need emergency care in the North Country this weekend, will have one less place to go. E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur is not accepting any emergency or non-acute patients until further notice.

The New York State Department of Health released a statement saying this is due to, "serious and on-going issues related to the hospital's laboratory services, which pose imminent risk to patient health and safety."

They said that all hospital patients are being transferred to other hospitals in the region. Residents of the hospital's nursing home are not affected, but all laboratory services will be done by other facilities.

The public is advised to access health care services, both emergency and non-emergency, at the following hospitals in the region:
