SNYDERTOWN BORO, Pa. -- The Athens community is mourning the loss of a teenager killed in a car crash on Thursday in Central Pennsylvania. State Police said Sarah Reid, 18, was driving west on State Route 4012 in Snydertown Boro in Central Pennsylvania when she lost control at a curve.

Reid slid off the wet roadway, striking two trees. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said excessive speed may have been a factor in the accident, but they are still investigating.
