SKANEATELES, N.Y. -- Thousands of people come to Skaneateles to get up close and personal with big trucks and equipment.
The 19th annual Big Trucks fundraiser was held Sunday to benefit the Skaneateles Nursery School. More than 2,000 people got the chance to climb and ride on their favorite trucks, heavy equipment, and even the Mercy Flight lifesaving helicopter.
The event gives people of all ages the opportunity to experience something out of the ordinary.
Big Trucks Director Sharon Azzam said, "It gives children the chance, and even adults, in this case this year I saw a lot of adults that came in without kids, the chance to go through and get on vehicles they'd never have the chance to be on."
Proceeds from the event go to scholarships for children to attend the Skaneateles Nursery School, as well as the school's art and music program.
