Time Warner Cable launches Lakers Channel

NEW YORK STATE -- Local fans can now get a taste of LA, right here in New York.

Time Warner Cable SportsNet, the new home of the Los Angeles Lakers, officially launched at 10 p.m. Monday. Now if you want to see more of Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and the rest of the team, all you’ll need to do is turn to channel 231 or 878 for HD. And our Spanish speaking viewers can turn to Time Warner Sports Deportes on channel 601 or 792, the first regional sports network in Spanish.

Time Warner Cable launched both networks with a flip of a switch at 7 p.m. LA time.

Time Warner Cable Sports Pass subscribers will be treated to all things Lakers including pre- and post-game news conferences, extended interviews with the team and a behind the scenes look at practices.

The network will also feature Lakers classic games so you’ll be able to relive those epic on-court battles between Magic Johnson and Boston Celtic Larry Byrd.

Time Warner Cable Sports Net and Time Warner Cable Deportes will also be the new home of David Beckham and the LA Galaxy, as well as the WNBA’s LA Sparks.

Time Warner Cable is the parent company of YNN.
