SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- There's some more evidence of the development in Central New York. The Downtown Committee of Syracuse announced Tuesday that 24 new businesses have opened in the district over the past year. That's quite an increase from last year's total of 13 and nine the year before that.
Committee officials say a growing residential base, increased development and aggressive recruitment efforts are some of the reasons why new businesses choose downtown.
A new commercial spot has also been launched, featuring current downtown businesses. If you want to check it out, visit www.downtownsyracuse.com.
