Syracuse police officer involved in crash

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse police officer was involved in a car accident. The crash happened on East Genesee Street near Bradford Parkway around 7:40 a.m.

Police say the officer was responding to a shots fired complaint on Demong Drive with her lights activated, when a vehicle pulled in front of her, pushing the patrol car into a tree. Police say there were only minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
