BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Testimony continued in the discrimination trial against the Ithaca Police Department. On Wednesday afternoon, attorneys for Chris Miller called the City of Ithaca Human Resources Director to the stand.
She testified about the city's hiring and promotion processes, and also about the department's diversity and discrimination policies. Miller is accusing the department of disciplining him more severely, and passing him over for promotions because he is white.
The defense maintains that Miller was justly punished due to his behavior and attitude on the job. The trial is expected to resume on Thursday in Federal Court in Binghamton.
