MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Officials in Madison County arrested three people following a three month heroin investigation at a home in Oneida.

During a search warrant at 225 North Lake Street, police found 9.2 grams of heroin. Officials say the individuals were selling the drugs at the home while children were present.

Police say the two people who lived at the home, Jonathan Harp, 28, and Matthew Petzoldt, 29, agreed to purchase heroin and transport it with an intent to sell. Both men were charged with conspiracy and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Harp also received an additional charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Michelle Jones, 23, of 23 North Lake Street, was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say they seized numerous items from the home including heroin, a digital scale, packaging, cash, drug paraphernalia and cell phones. They say more charges against the three are pending.

The children are currently staying with a relative.
