UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica Police have released a disturbing piece of video as they try to determine what happened Tuesday night that led to a boy being violently pulled inside a vehicle.

This surveillance footage was taken outside a store on Oneida Square around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The tape shows an eight-year-old, seen at the top of the video, walking up to a vehicle. He's called over and shortly after, you can see him lunge into the back seat. After about eight seconds, the boy gets out and runs away in the direction he came from, but police are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding what happened.

Police say a man and woman were seen outside the store shortly before the incident. Then they walk to the vehicle and get in just moments before the boy approaches. Police are now trying to identify these individuals for questioning. They are asking anyone who recognizes them to call the Criminal Investigation Division at (315) 223-3510. All calls can be kept confidential.
