UTICA, N.Y. -- The man accused of murdering an MVCC culinary student has returned to Oneida County Court after being extradited from North Carolina. Jamal Gadson was officially arraigned Friday, but pleaded not guilty to charges of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police believe Gadson shot Jermaine Stubbs, 35, on Lenox Avenue in July after an argument at a Varick Street bar.
Bail will be set when Gadson returns to court later this month.
