UNITED STATES -- Along with your coins, vending machines could soon be counting calories as well. Beginning next year, the American Beverage Association will start rolling out new machines that let you know just how many calories are in that soda.

The association, which represents major companies like Coco-Cola and Pepsi, says the machines will also increase the availability of lower calorie drinks and display messages reminding customers about healthier options.
