STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police are investigating a possible abduction attempt in Steuben County.

Troopers say around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, a man entered a home on East Main Street in the Village of Canisteo. He allegedly took a 10-year-old girl from her bed and carried her downstairs. But, for some unknown reason, the man fled the house without the child. The little girl was unharmed.
