MARCY, N.Y. -- Oneida County vets are getting help finding critical services. The sixth annual CNY Veterans Expo was helping people with jobs, health care, education and other needs Tuesday.
Near 90 businesses, schools and non-profits were at SUNYIT, all looking for vets. Some companies and schools were looking to directly recruit veterans, while others were trying to help them take advantage of area programs.
Organizers say it's the one of the only opportunities area veterans get to connect with each other and veteran-friendly companies.
"A lot of veterans were coming home, a lot of family members had concerns and questions and there's all these services in the Central New York area that just weren't really connecting to the veterans and their families. So this is a way to get everybody under one roof," organizer Ward Halverson said.
Officials say they usually expect to help around one to two-hundred veterans each year.
If you'd like to connect your business or organization to veterans at next year's expo, you can find their information at vetexpo.org .
